AWP can be used to manage Crop Templates and to create Media Delivery Cloud-URLs for a selected cropping (requires additional module).

AWP offers several features in regards to Crop Templates and MDC.

Both Crop Templates and MDC support cropping based on a Region-of-Interest. To configure the Region-of-Interest for a record open the Preview View in AWP and select the Region-of-Interest tool:

The rectangle can be dragged and resized as needed to mark the Region-of-Interest for the current record. Click the Save button to write the current position back to the database. To reset the current position back to the default (centered) position, click the Remove button.

The editor is available if the current user has been granted Modify permission for the Region of Interest field.

One parameter set for each defined Crop Template can be configured with the Crop Templates Editor:

Use the Crop Template chooser to switch between the available Crop Templates. The user interface then adapts to the configuration of the chosen Crop Template. For example if the Crop Template has been configured to a static ratio, the editor also forces the user to keep that ratio. When selecting a Template which is configured for Region-of-Interest based cropping the editor switches to a read-only mode and shows the Region-of-Interest rectangle which cannot be moved.

Click the Save button to write the current cropping as the new parameter set for the selected Crop Template back to the catalog. Click the Remove button to reset the parameter set to the default values.

The Save and Remove buttons are available if the current user is granted the Create Item, Modify Item or Delete Item permission for the Media Delivery Cloud Rendition Parameters sub-table. The editor is available if the current user is granted the View Item permission for the Media Delivery Cloud Rendition Parameters sub-table.

If Media Deliver Cloud is enabled and the current record is published as a master image and has the Media Delivery Cloud Image ID field value set AWP can generate a URL which returns a cropping for the current rectangle position.
The URL is provided in one of two variants:

• If the current rectangle matches exactly the stored parameter set, for example directly after selecting a Crop Template or after clicking Save, the URL uses the Crop Template reference instead of coordinates: https://your-mdc-domain.cloudfront.net/rendition/customerID/imageID/-T16:9%20Crop%20Template-FJPG
  If such an URL is used in some location it would automatically adapt to the changes made to the Crop Template parameter set later.
• If the rectangle has been changed the URL uses those coordinates instead when generating the URL: https://your-mdc-domain.cloudfront.net/rendition/customerID/imageID/-C59.23%25x45.14%25,13.34%25,21.65%25-S1958x1102-FJPG
  This variant will always return the same static crop result.

In addition the required output file format can be selected. The presented URL is always kept in sync to the current rectangle position and size and the file format chooser. Click the Copy button to copy the current URL to the clipboard.
