Can be whatever you want it to be. When opening the name editor dialog one can also configure a description which is then available to users by hovering a little question mark icon which is displayed next to the filter name.
Filter Type
This cannot be changed once you have decided that this is a filter that uses Field Values. You will have to remove it and add a new filter to replace it.
Filter active
When active, it is visible on your AWP. If you uncheck this box, it will hide the filter, but not delete it.
Filter initially collapsed
By default this is unchecked. That means the filter will be expanded like this:
If you check this field, it will collapse the filter and only show “Date”.
Restrict filter to
Enable this option to show the filter only to the listed users or members of the listed roles.
Field
Here you decide what record field, the filter gets it's value from. For example “Item Modification Date” as is used in the screenshot above.
Generate hierarchical tree
If this is enabled, the filter will be shown in a hierarchical tree. This will disable the options for “Sort by frequency” and “Allow selection of multiple values”.
Sort by frequency
If this is enabled, the filter will be sorted by frequency, with the most frequent value on top.
Allow selection of multiple values
If this is enabled, you can filter by multiple values simultaneously.
Records must match all selected values
Find records which match all selected values instead of only at least one selected value. Available when filtering a multi-value String List or Vocabulary field.
Invert Result
Sometimes it's useful to invert the filter list, for example to show most recent date values first. In addition the inversion can be limited to the first level only. This can be useful if the most recent years should be shown first but on the next level the months should keep the traditional order.
