Collections

Introduction

AWP has a broad support for Cumulus Collections including download collections, shared and private collections. To work with collections a user must login first to get access to the collections available to him.

The collections button is not available if the user has no accessible collection and no permission to create a new collection.

Collection Menu

After logging in the user can work with collections. The menu-bar offers a new icon which shows a popup with the collections available. The list can be filtered by collection type and collection name.
Besides the name the list also shows the type of collection and the date of last modification. On the right side of each collection is a small menu button which will offer more options.

OpenClicking the collection name or choosing the Open option in the menu will replace the search result collection with the collection content. The currently loaded collection is also visualized with a changed background color. Clicking the collection name again will unload the collection.
Information Displays a dialog with the collection properties.

For Download and Upload Collections this also allows the user to change the expiration and embargo date, the recipients, the subject and the email body text, the password, the available views and the available asset actions for download. The user can then either save the changes or send another email to the collection recipients to notify them about the changes.
DownloadChoosing this option will download the assets of the collection records directly without affecting the collection basket.
ShareThis menu item allows the user to create a new Download collection.
Add to BasketAdds all records of the collection to the collection basket.
DeleteEnables the user to delete the collection, but brings up a confirmation dialog before deleting the collection at the Cumulus server.

Managing items of a Collection

Add records

There are several ways to add records to a collection. Opening the information view of a record shows a plus sign to add this single record to a collection:

The collection basket also shows the additional button Add to Collection to add all contained records to a collection:

Clicking one of these brings up a dialog where the user can choose between adding the records to an existing collection or to create a new collection.

Remove records

After opening a collection, the information view for a record offers a new Minus button to remove this record from the current collection.

In addition the collection basket also shows a new button to remove all contained records from the current collection:

After selecting one of these buttons the according confirmation dialog appears to ensure the user really wants to remove the records from the currently loaded collection:

Clicking the Remove button closes the dialog and applies the change.
