AMS
Attention Museum Synchronizer
Collection system and media bank, one reality
Ties Fylr to the museum's collection management system so catalogue records, vocabularies and digital assets stay aligned without manual work. Catalogue data stays authoritative in the collection system, the files stay controlled in Fylr, and AMS makes sure information runs the right way.
Features
- Runs on your own interval via Attention Scheduler — typically overnight
- Incremental — only what changed since the last successful run
- Field mapping in simple tables, editable without stopping the job
- Uploads selected Fylr renditions to records in the collection system
- imdas pro — both directions, pulling in and publishing back
- MuseumPlus / Zetcom RIA — records in, assets and metadata back, vocabulary mirroring
About the product
Most museums have two systems that are both right. The collection system knows what the object is. The media bank knows what the photograph of it looks like and who is allowed to use it. The trouble starts when someone has to keep the two in agreement by hand.
One source for each thing
AMS is built on the idea that every piece of information is authoritative in one place. Catalogue data stays in the collection system — that is where the registrar works. The digital files stay controlled in Fylr, where rights, formats and publishing belong. AMS moves the information whichever way the institution has decided it should run.
Running on your schedule
Synchronisation runs through Attention Scheduler at whatever interval you choose. Typically that is overnight, but anything from minutes to weeks is supported.
The run is incremental: only records that changed since the last successful run are exchanged. That is what makes a daily synchronisation practical on a large collection without it taking all night.
Field mapping without a developer
What maps to what is controlled in simple tables. They can be edited as cataloguing practice changes, without stopping the job or setting it up again.
Supported systems
imdas pro
Supports workflows in both directions: catalogue objects can be pulled into Fylr, and curated material can be published back to imdas pro.
MuseumPlus / Zetcom RIA
Catalogue records flow into Fylr while digital assets and their metadata flow back — in a single job. Vocabularies can be mirrored so the controlled lists are the same in both systems.
