Webapp Configuration

Fylr Connection

Tomcat

After installing the webapp with Tomcat, open the TOMCAT/webapps/avp/WEB-INF/conf/avp-config.xml configuration file to configure the Fylr server the webapp should connect to.

avp-config.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<configuration>
    <server>
        <serverAddress>fylr-server-address</serverAddress>
        <adminUser>fylr-user</adminUser>
        <adminPassword>fylr-password</adminPassword>
        <clientID>fylr-oauth-client-id</clientID>
        <clientSecret>fylr-oauth-client-secret</clientSecret>
        <instanceName>avp</instanceName>
    </server>
</configuration>

Docker

The Fylr connection to use when employing the Docker installation is configured with the environment variables stored in docker-compose.yml.

Parallel streams

AVP delivers at most 100 videos, preview images and subtitle files at the same time, so a burst of requests cannot overload AVP and Fylr. A stream counts until it is finished or the viewer leaves, and a single viewer can hold more than one, for example while jumping to another position. Requests beyond the limit are answered with “503 Service Unavailable”; the viewer gets a playback error and can start the video again a few seconds later.

To change the limit, add the following block to the TOMCAT/webapps/avp/WEB-INF/web.xml and restart the webapp. The example allows 200 parallel streams:

<context-param>
    <param-name>avp.maxParallelStreams</param-name>
    <param-value>200</param-value>
</context-param>

An update of AVP replaces the web.xml, so the block has to be added again afterwards.
